New Here...and pretty much new to bass fishing
Hey all,
I am new to the forum....Kinda new to bass fishing too...My name is Ted and im from Northeast Ohio.I used to go fishing all the time when i was little... Then it just turned into twice or three times a summer. Well this summer i really got into fishing. My sister and her boyfriend bought me a rod and reel combo and some tackle to get me started... (Ugly Stick with a Shakespere spinning reel and a spinner bait and jigheads and twirly tails, renegade worms and a few frogs.) One of my best friends is a member on here (NJBassDevil) and he has been teaching me all sorts of things, and has been helping me out alot over the internet... Teaching me about rods, reels, baits, hooks, and many other things. I have had alot of fun learning from him and cant wait to fish with him someday. He is also the one that really started getting me interested in bass fishing. Then i tried just fishing for bass on my second fishing trip of the summer... and i caught 2 of them that night and after that i was hooked... Now i am really into bass fishing...Priced a 361 Soft Plastic Bass Bait kit the other night on Bass Pro Shops website and i think i am going to get it and start fishing with soft plastics... I am also planning on getting some more setups for bass fishing... Certain Rods and Reels for certain kinds of baits... Just figured id introduce myself and give alittle background on myself and fishing...If anyone has any advice or tips or anything... Id greatly appreciate it. Thanks! -Ted |

Nice introduction, I appreciate that a lot. Welcome to the nut house. Have fun, and remember there is a "Search" feature on this site, that can answer lot's of questions.

Thanks Guys!!! I went out tonight and bought 3 spinnerbaits and 5 frogs...two of the three spinnerbaits are colorado blade spinners and the other one is a willow blade spinner... The frogs are Burke Original LifeLikes. Frogs seem to work great over at the pond for bass... Thats what ive caught all the bass this year out of there on. If i can figure out how to post some pictures... I'll post pics of the bass ive caught this year so far...

Hey, I'm pretty new to bass fishing to, but I have no one to teach me cause my dad isn't into bass fishing. Anyways I've found Buzzbais are good to get started. Just don't make the mistake and buy cheap ones like it did. (I bought $1.00 Clearance Lures from Meijer.
Anyways If you get really interest and want to make your own baits and things, Like i make my own buzzbaits now, I know a great shop in northwest Ohio, Toledo, actually. You can go there if you feel up a road trip or visit the website and get a catalog. its, jannsnetcraft.com They may be a little pricy, but they have good quality stuff, And I'd know, I beat the crap out of my lures. Anyways, hope you learn a lot (along with me) and have Fun!!! |

Well, I am in the Thompson area (just south of Madison in the eastern end of Geauga county) and am always looking for new fishing buddies. Also, I have permission at a few nice private ponds in the area. Drop me a line, and perhaps we can get out and hook-up sometime. (pun intended). And, for the bigger lakes, I also have a little rowboat
