Well after reading JB's post I decided to give it a go for the first time in quite some time at the big lake.. I got there and immediatly nailed 3 bass on a shallow flat with a buzzbait, then nothing else.. I moved to another flat and saw a huge school of big shad, 5-8 inches, moving in a circle very fast, never seen this kind of thing before. Sure enough, every so often they would go crazy. I ended up catching 4 on a popper, one had a shad sticking out of its mouth, so i took it out and threw it out there. Bam a 4 pounder.. Right after this, I think they moved deep and I could no longer see them, and I headed home. It was a pretty cool experiance, considering I wasnt even aware of shad in this lake.
