Default Question about "read this and learn" thread

How many on here have means of getting back in their boats that do not have the pull out step or a ladder attached already like some of the newer model boats have?

The tread by Zooker about a bad incident got me thinking if I could get back in my ranger boat in this cold water in a hurry if I were to fall in. I don't think I would have much time in Jan. or Feb. when I start trying to get one of Docs, Lowrider and Mont Lunker 10 pounders. I done a lot of crappie fishing in icy or pretty cold weather but that was confined small areas always setting down and not big open water.

I may think of making a rope ladder or some type of pull up aid and have it tied to the rear of the boat and have it where it coud be reached and pulled over the side if needed in cold water and stiff or cramping muscles. This summer I will play around and see if I can come up with a handy aid.

Any ideas out there.

Be safe, and wear your PFD.
