Steering cables, Whew, Done!!!
Not that I want to have to do that again for like forever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Uncovered the boat this spring to find that I could just barly turn the steering. Well, it's a 13 year old 295 Stratos so I figured It may be about time anyway for new cables. It was a little stiff last year. We, maybe a little more than a little stiff! Anyway I couldn't find any #'s on the cable so I called Stratos boats and they were kind enough to tell me what length to order. Even if they were wrong!!!! They said 14' but they were 13'!!! I had to cut the ends off the old cables to get them pulled out, Then liked to never got the new ones back in even though I fed a rope through when I pulled the old ones! Took me and a buddy five hours to complete the job, but the steering is smooth as silk now. Ya, I know, I probably was flirting with disaster last year but money was tight! I could not move either of the old cables after I removed them at all!!!

This cool little thing will not make your cables last longer, but will provide lubrication to your streering arm for about 24 bucks.. Worth it BTW Capt Mike
