Phoenix Bass Boats
I'm in the market for a bass boat/6-8 months out. I'm doing research and need some assistance.
While at the local Triton dealer he introduced me to a company called Phoenix. He told me this company's new line of bass boats the 721ProXP will be equivalent to the BassCat and Ranger quality but the major difference will be the optional or upgrade equipment on the these higher end boats will be standard equipment on the Phoenix. I was told the price will be about a couple thousand $$ cheaper but will not sacrafice quality. Apparently they are tiring to set a new standard for bass fishing boats by providing a top quality product at an affordable price. On the website the videos and pics are nice but we all know marketing. I will be able to get hands on one of these in like two weeks for a test run and close inspection. Plus he said Phoenix isn't locked into a outboard motor contract with any certain company so I can put any motor on it I wanted (Mercury/Evinrude/Yamaha 250) http://www.phoenixbassboats.com What are your thoughts and opinions about this company and is this boat. I'm looking for good strong facts and opinions. Pls no biases. I understand here are true die hard Triton, Ranger, Stratos, Nitro anglers out their. Last edited by Soup1K9; 08-30-09 at 03:19 PM. seen a few of them now. a couple of them at boat shows and there is a guy that i fish against in a tournament trail that has one.
keep in mind that i have never rode in one so i can't say anything about the ride or how it handles. but they better have their ducks in a row if they are going to claim to have bass cat type quality, not saying they don't have that type of quality but bass cat and ranger have been around for a long time and their quality has been proven time and time again where phoenix is new and how the boats stand up to the test of time remains to be seen. the ones i saw were great looking boats that were loaded to the gills with cool stuff like storage systems and special places for pliers. the console area was pretty roomy and the seats were pretty comfortable. my biggest concern was how narrow the front deck got up by the trolling motor pedal. i usually have several rods on the deck and it didn't look like you would be left with much room after your rods were laid out. like i said all of this is based on what i saw in a quick stop at a boat show so take it for what it's worth. i do think they are a great looking boat and when the time comes for me to get another new boat, if i have heard good things about them then i would probably look into them deeper. hope this helps

Popover to Bass Boat Central. They have a forum for Phoenix owners. If I was able to afford a NEW boat - Phoenix would be at the top of my short list. The 721 is really fitted out well. Quality components throughout the boat. Link has pictures taken by a prospective buyer - not a slicked up production by the manufacturer. The 19' boat has just become available and an 18' rig is being planned. If you have any questions about the boat for owners - that forum might be a good place to start. But check out the 721. I especially like the passenger rod storage and the front compartment with the lazy susan tackle storage.

Man...those pics and videos make me wish I had a bigger garage...and wallet! Very nice looking, thoughtfully designed boats.

Thanks for the link. WOW!!! BBC has some good information. I have been looking at all these brand of bass boats and for some reason I am really liking this boat. I just seen it on the fish, hunt, cook TV show last night. I think this guy Gary Clouse did it right! I http://www.wired2fish.com/Video.aspx?MediaID=378 |

I removed the console from my boat (Stratos) and while I am grateful it is possible, it sure is not easy to do with nut/bolts way up in the gunnell. That is a super idea! There are a lot of nice features on these boats such as the center clete. Definitely worth a look if you are considering a new boat.
