I think white-tails usually top out around 350, but I guess if it were in a perfect location, with lots of apple orchard and farmers' crops to fatten up on, 400 is possible.

That is massive. I would hate to have to drag that through the woods. But I do think it is photoshopped. If you look at the base of the antlers they seem to be slightly detached from the skull. I don't know though it might be real I really can't tell.

Big deer but no way it's 400, or if it is it's not from Maine, record whitetail in Maine is a little over 300lbs..the deer population recently however has taken a huge hit from hard winters, lack of food and an increase in the coyote population..I have not shot a deer in two years and before that I had shot a deer in 7 straight seasons

Well, Maine could produce a 400 lbs deer. http://www.maine.gov/IFW/wildlife/sp...deer/index.htm I did a lot of searching on this picture and none of the websites can confirm nor deny it The same deer starts showing up in December of this year. the one interesting fact to me is that it is always claimed to be from maine. In most fakes, the story changes from time to time. this one has remained consistant for a month.

I can buy 400 compared to the guy. He has got to be an easy 220. That's why I question it. The comparison should put the deer's body at elk status. It might have been a "canned" hunt though. Seems like one like that would be posted all over the magazines unless it was shot on a deer farm.
