Well, we're just over 24 hours away from bass opener here in MN and I'm all rigged up and ready to go! I just finished putting new line on the last of 9 reels -- 6 for me, 3 for my wife.
![]() Our plan is to try to avoid what will undoubtedly be painful holiday weekend traffic tomorrow afternoon by cutting out of work early (10:00 a.m.) to begin the 4.5 hour trek up to the lake. I plan to toss a sucker minnow out from our dock tomorrow evening to see if I can land a 30"+ pike. Then I'll be out early Saturday morning and don't have much else planned other than bass fishing for 3 full days. ![]() ![]() ![]() Enjoy the Memorial Day weekend everyone and BE SAFE! |

Have fun and good luck this weekend. I am going to Smith Lake in Alabama but I will not be fishing. Just drinking.

Sounds like a great time all. I'll be working Saturday but get the following two days off so I'll get a chance to do some fishing around home but I know the water will be crowded.
Got to go out this morning for about 3 hours before work (its great being able to have the boat in the water five minutes after leaving the driveway). Managed 9 in the boat with a couple 2-3 pounders plus a small pike and a catfish that hit a jerk bait....that cat put up a great fight and probably went 10 plus....alotta fun....you just never know what you're gonna catch around here. Hope eveyone has a great time this weekend |
