Every November our company hosts a formal night out for all of its current and retired employees who have 25+ years of service. They rent a bunch of coach buses and take the whole group up to a large ballroom in St. Paul where they provide fancy appetizers and drinks during a social hour, followed by a catered 4-course meal (main course of lobster, steak, etc.). After the meal, there is a short program where the employees who reached 25 years of employment during the current year are introduced and presented with a plaque. Since I hit the 25-year mark this past June, I was invited to attend this year for the first time (along with 61 other newbies to the "Quarter Century Club" as it's known at work). It was a fun evening and a very cool perk from my employer. Here is a shot of me with the soon-to-be retired Chairman of our company during the plaque presentation ceremony.
