I take you mean away from the bank in deeper water. One of the best techniques is a Carolina rig:

It lets you get a bait deep, cover a lot of water, and most importantly, catches fish.

Best day ever was with a torpedo. Lost count at 27 largemouth on 27 consecutive casts. All between 1 and 2 pounds.

Reel it straight in, rip it, hard pops, soft jerks-experiment and let the fish tell you what they want. Also, sharpen the hooks-I learned that lesson many years ago.

It's the cheapest form of a Senko, buy them at wal mart for like three bucks. They are the same, and last alot longer

Tiki Stick:

Rig it like you would a Texas rig but with no weight:

Except I leave the point of the hook buried in the plastic to keep it weedless,

Or Wacky rig it:

Cast them out, let them sink, and work it with gentle twitches of the rod tip.

Bpoi, I think you can. Sometimes people get so many lures that they never give one enough time to be effective. I think it leads to "throwing the whole tackle box at 'em" which, in my opinion, spooks the fish because they see so many unnatural things.

make sure you are in a spot that has the kind of fish you are looking for.......and try a beatle spin....chartruese in color.....if you are worried about lure color.....go chartruese, it is most equally effective in all water types(in MY opinion and experiences)

Totally agree dude,
im not sayin you gotta bring a million lures or use all of them...i just hate that feeling of...if i only had a good buzzbait id be killin em...now i gotta screw around with this plastic worm...and im not sayin you should buy one of everything on the shelves, half of them wont get you a thing...especially if you dont kno how to use em

It is called the bait monkey. It sits on your shoulder and whispers (occasionlly screams ) that you need to buy this bait in that color, and that bait in this color...you get the idea. And there ain't nothing you can do about it .
