BassFishing Forum Members Tackle Swap
After reading crankys post about certain well known lures not being sold at his walmart, it got me thinking(ya smell wood burning don't ya). I am wondering if each forum member could help another in finding tackle that may or may not be sold in another members area. The catch would be of course, the trust that 2 people on here will match financial concerns with purchase price, along with shipping and a "handshake" to those members willing to do so.
I am wondering if we could post what lures we have looked for but can't find, or they don't make them..I am thinking in the back of my mind if a couple of guys that are out there buying tackle, and they happen to run into a lure that a friend on here wants , and is willing to reimburse for, why not post it on this forum that we can get you that if you're willing to pay for it , either up front or after another angler has bought it. Of course, this would make for a huge commitment on each others trust, especially the one sending the money for shipping and handling+cost of lure. I am thinking that guys that know each other and are buddies would almost say "yes" to purchase or swap, I guess its up to others to prove that they can pay to play sort of thinking.. Any Ideas? |

hmm yeah, thanks thatd be a pretty cool idea. a cross country trading thing. and also, to cut down on S&H, why not mail em like regular mail in envelopes? it costs an envelope and 87 cents at most, unlike 5 dollar shipping worth the price of the lure. im thining youd send two envelopes. one inside the other. in the ifrst envelope, you put the money and the second envelope. the second envelope would be prepaid and self addressed. put in the lure and send it back. the trust would be the hardest part though. um how bout a rating? in social studies, we learned about the government making bonds, and i asked why someone couldnt just borrow billions of dollars. my teacher explained credits. so we could use a similar system, where each guy has a rating on service. post if the guy who you sent to didnt send, sent the wrong thing, or sent a used one
as for what i dont have and think would be good in my box- x-rap shad-rap jointed shad rap DT6 and the next highest diver |

JB, I like the idea. I don't even mind used if someone wants to swap for used. As long as the lures are in good shape.

I have so many different lures, I'll never miss one....If someone wants something...and post's a picture of it, so I know what they are looking for....I could part with it easily if it's one I do not use often. I am not too familar with rapala lures, so if anyone is really wanting one of those, try to post a pic of what your after, I'll be happy to trade or take a small amount to replace with some senko's or whatever. I'm willing to give the honor system a try.

Good idea JB, but I kinda already do that with some folks here LOL
If I can find or get something for someone, then I'm more than happy to do it. If they don't pay me for it, their name will be mud, and I consider it a small price to pay for finding out who is a dirtbag, and who's a standup guy. Problem is that I haven't been to a store other than Walmart in 4 months, except the Sports Authority for a Aerator. They didn't have much anyways IMO. I have everything I need already LOL, well I guess not, the monkey just decided to pop up and let me know that I needed a lot more things, like a 100mph rainsuit, a HELMET, etc... Lizards

Lizards,
Any insight on unforeseen problems with mailing or collecting shipping fees on your end so far? I am guessing you are probably (up till now) sending already owned lures (from your own personal collection) and sending them out to buddies...any ideas to share?? thanks |

another good point is that people live in bad places... the nearest cablelas is about 3 hours away, same with BPS. dicks is about 40 minutes away, and walmart is the only other thing

I am looking for horny toad type baits. I have the Zoom, Sizmic, Mann's Hard Nose, Case. I looked up a lot of sites and the shipping is very high for one or two bags. If anybody has a different brand or close access to a different brand and wants to sell or trade for something please let me know. Thanks.
