Default boosting gas milage

lets face it gas is not going to return to the $1.50 mark ever again. i own a 73 jeep cherokee-2 door- all time 4x4 with a 360 carberated moter. with the 35" mud terrains on it i get and impressive 8 miles to the gallon. and you wonder why i don't drive it more often huh??
i am not looking to boost it in this gas chugger as i don't drive it alot..

i do have a 2005 ford ranger 4x4 with a efi 3.0l v-6. packing stock 235-70-15 tires that i drive alot. when i bought the truck new-in august- it had 235-70-15 good year wrangler tires on it and bone stock intake.milage was a depressing 17 mpg after 6 months -prior to mods- it still was getting only 18 miles per gallon. the mods i added were a k&n drop in cold air intake filter, a mass air sensor, and a set of 4 touring tires. the k&n filter i got at auto zone for $75 the mass air sensor is a vortecx-it's rifled-$125, and 4 new kumo 795 performance touring 235-70-15 tires. my milage jumped to 26 mpg. i now have 30K miles on the truck my average weekly milage is 500 miles or 1.5 tanks of gas. the milage gain is about 1 tank of gas every other month or $180 a year saved in gas. in 5 years thats $900 bucks...

think about it.....
