To those that use them, is it possible to fish topwaters like walk the dog style baits?
Alos for those that have electronics on their kickboats, will as basic 12volt batter suffice to run a depth finder? I am looking to get a kickboat this afternoon, I am looking at the Creek Country ODC Sport XL, if anyone has any input, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks |

TKO, as far as walkin' the dog, it does take a bit to get used to because you're sitting down, but it can be done. Depth finders that are 12 volt work very well with a 12 volt motorcycle battery. I use a Fishing Buddy depth finder, it doesn't weigh hardly anything and it takes 3 "C" batteries to operate.

I agree with Jerry. It does take a little practice to get casting/retrieve down. I use alot of side am casting. I think if you can get the casting and retrieve down on a float/kickboat you will be able to rock on a big boat!
I also agree with using a motorcycle battery. I have 2 that I use. 1 is for my depth finder and the other for a bilge pump/livewell when we fish tourneys! You can pick them up at atuoparts store(Kragen, Napa or AutoZone) for about $20.00. If you want to see what is possible to do on a Kickboat check out these 2 sites.... www.scbbbc.com or www.bass-n-tubes.com Hope this helps you out! |
