Default Events Cancelled As Crews Search For Drowning Victim

A day full of events planned for the first day of Memorial Day Weekend at Caesar Creek State Park has been cancelled after tragedy struck Friday.
Thousands were expected to visit the beach at Caesar Creek State Park (near Waynesville, Ohio) this Saturday but instead search crews and the family and friends of a drowning victim are the only ones there now.
On Friday afternoon a man in his 20s disappeared after he went under water while he was swimming with a group.
Tim Carr, regional park manager, told 9News that Saturday's events were on hold in respect for the victim's family, who are waiting on word of his recovery.
He told 9News that the beach may reopen once they find the victim though. 9News has a crew on the scene
