Took a family vacation last week to the land of Mickey. Took a morning and met Lizards at his hawg grounds. You talk about heaven on earth! Put the boat in around 6:15 with overcast skies and no wind. Tried some topwaters right off with no strikes. I was there to catch some big bass so we went with live shiners. Pulled up to a Lizards hot spot amongst the grass and tree roots. Lizards catches the first fish and I start to get excited because this thing has the rod bent over and he's hanging on for dear life! He says "It's a good one but it's not a big one", he then pulls out the biggest bass I've seen in person and I can't hide my excitement. She measures 22" and 15" girth. WoW! We don't see that in Indiana too often. That was the big fish of the day, I think we both pulled in 3 more each in the 2lb area, and I was lucky enough to catch the first bowfin of my life!
![]() Thanks for the trip Lizards! You are an awesome host and I hope to get down there next spring when the bite is really on ![]() |
