Just curious. How big would an Indiana bass have to be to be a contender? I've forgotten the formula once you convert the weight to ounces.

Using the IN state record LM of 236 ounces, you would need a 10lb 0oz LM to put you in the lead as that would be 67.80% of your state record. A 9lb 15oz bass would put you at 67.37%, just barely behind Clayton. Does that help? Do you have a 10 pounder in your plans? Or maybe you're going after Smallies instead since the IN record for that is only 116 ounces? |

Excellent fish Kory! I hope we get to see some fish posted in the 70% range maybe even the 80's as the year goes on.

Thanks guys. I caught her on a Reaction Innovations Sweet Beaver. I was sight fishing and there is nothing in the world that is as exciting as catching fish off of beds, there is just something awesome about watching the fish react to the baits you flip in their bed. And when they are as big as that girl, it is pretty intense. I spent a total of probably close to two hours on that fish. I left her 3 different times to let her settle down because she was so spooky. I knew if she got on her bed and got comfortable she would be catchable, but I wasn't sure that was going to happen. I also didn't realize she was that big. I told Britney that I was certain she was at least 7lbs but it's just so hard to guess the weight of a fish when you see them in the water. After I set the hook and she came up on top of the water and made a slob out of herself I knew she was bigger than 7lbs LOL.

What do yall think about this? Maybe it would be a good idea/fun if everybody competing would post a pic of there biggest 2013 bass even if the weight was below the current 3rd place. I really like IB's layout/design skills and I'm sure he wouldn't mind putting together something that would reflect everybody's standings.....from first to last. I caught a 7lb fish wed but quickly tossed it back (almost disappointed but not) because it wasn't a contender. If you guys don't want to bother it's fine but I thought it might be fun to look at in January and say "well I didn't win but I did better than X and Y"
