Hahaha....No worries John, I don't have a link for them anyway....My wife showed me pics in some chick magazine awhile back is the only reason I knew they even existed.

cool, you better start putting a little money away for a pair of vibram fivefingers because you will end up getting a pair. This past spring a got a pair of vibrams strictly for running, then that turned in to a everyday shoe. There awesome, I love fishing with them. I wade with them all the time, so comfy. Im sad because winter is coming. Only thing is that they get a bit smelly, lots of easy ways to clean though. If Im gonna be wearing em on a real hot day i rub tea tree oil on my feet before i put em on and it helps with the smell tremendously.

It's been a year, what's the verdict? Are they decent shoes and more importantly, are they good fishing shoes?

I think they are pretty good shoes. Once you get used to wearing them you will be amazed at how comfortable they really are. One thing I will caution you towards though is to be careful with hooks if you wear them fishing. It would be pretty easy to stick a hook through them.

There was once an episode of Married with Children where Al had a dream that God spoke to him and told him to make a shoe with individual toe pockets. I wonder if God really did speak to him....
I have heard that people are having good results wearing those things for marathon running. One might compare it to microguides. We sorta have had the same regular sized guides for years, and then all of a sudden someone asks the question "why" and we find out that there was a better, more simple way all along. I suspect shoemakers found it easier to make shoes with leather that bound the feet, but now that new materials are out there, we have suddenly discovered that we dont have to be so constrained.

Can't believe this is the first time I've seen this thread. I saw a guy the other day at Dicks wearing those and about cracked up. They might be a good comfy design, but seriously dude, in public? haha Now if they made them to look cool and sporty, maybe I'd try it out. But for now, it's still sneakers for me. I already get ribbed about more than I care to mention as it is. But, I'm glad you lik'em.

I'd take toe shoes over crocs any day! I'd almost have to go barefooted before I wore crocs...that's just me though!
Toe shoes and those "barefoot" shoes are taking over in the Marine Corps too. Our exchanges carry multiple different brands of them. I've been eying the Merrell "barefoot" ones for a while |
