Got the Daiwa Zillion.
Dayummm, it's sweet! Also, he got a St. Croix avid series rod. They go together great.

I don't own the reel, but I would say it's a very nice combo, and should fish well for him, or when you borrow it Lizards

I tried to steal it, but he won't let me!
I'm thinking about getting a Tour Edition PT, or the Zillion. They're both great.

personally I love a abu garcia 4600c4 reel on a nice g-loomis rod for baitcasting.... for spinning I like the libra tika on a loomis....the abu loomis combo is awesome, have had several for years and never had a stitch of trouble....I just oil em up now and then...and string um up with power pro..and fish the dickens outta them!

Lots of good reels
Like someone already posted, Daiwa TDA, Daiwa Zillion, Shimano Metanium, Quantum PT.....take your pick, I don't think you would be dissapointed with any of them. Check out www.tackletour.com for excellent unbiased reviews, I use that site to research all of my major purchases.

PBN. I'm no expert yet, but I would say if you're choosing between the TD Zillion and Quantum Tour ( I was a few weeks ago) get the Zillion. That's just what I would do.
