Went out for just a short bit on Saturday night with my sis and caught my first LM!! It was great, got him on a good old topwater torpedo (water is down and weeds were killing us!) and he was just over 14". Gonna try Cheeseman again this weekend, so spinners and senkos should be good there. I'll keep you all updated.

Good job CN. Congrats on the first bass. I often use surface lures such as a heddon tiny torpedo or poppers at night and early in the morning and nothing wakes me up faster than a big bucketmouth crushing a topwater when it is silent out on the water. Scares the hell out of ya, but its something you don't soon forget and really hooks you on topwater fishing.

I would go with a Zoom Trick Wrom in Watermelonseed. Get a few packs of 3/0 worm hooks, some sinkers, and some swivels and you can do alot with these. I like to Carolina Rig them, Texas Rig them, and sometimes, especially in the spring, fish them weightless. You can get info on all these rigs if you do a forum search for whichever one you want.
