Yes they still make the flaming grape and it works very well at times. One great story, I had two flaming grapes in my takle box, I fished the first three hours in a tournement with other colored bandits, nothing. Put that bait on and went back to my first spot, 20 minutes had a limit of smallies. I went around the island (formed by low water) again and culled with two largemouth. The second day of the tourney I started with that bait on another island, first cast a 4LB. hit at the boat then came off. The other end of the island I hook a fish that starts peeling line, I get him close and he's snagged. I pull then let him run pull again ect. soon snap. I put my last flaming grape on and cast towards the end I lost the four, bam a good 5.5 I rush him to the boat in my frantic state lean over to get the net. The fish goes straight passed the boat and snaps my line. !5 minutes into day two and I loose both my confident lures.

I actually use his original line I think, its the one with the largest color selection. I use the little N 4 to 6 ft. same depth with the bandit.

CC, checkout BPS or Tackle Warehouse for the Professional Edge Norman's. They're like $5.40 a pop. The standard Norman crankbait is around $4.00. The glitter finish on those never wear-off. I've got some Deep Little N suspending that are from the mid 1990's and they still produce bigtime.

The story has a twist, my arch rival for angler of the year was about 30 yards from me coming my way when I lost the last fish. I so wanted that fish in my hand when he asked how I was doing, which lead to my freak out even more. All said, he won angler of the year by 2 points, it makes this tail even more painfull, those three fish would of given me the title.

ok here is a question for ya gang. what if you were to take a peller highliter pen and make a stripe down the sides? wouldn't that make your bait a sexy shad in some way. the reason i ask is i think i have a lure similer to this one, just needs the yeller stripe.

Bama, I use Sharpie indelible markers,[like 25 different colors} to either paint a stripe or add a new hue to a hardbait or softbait. I even mark up my jig and spinnerbait skirts to my liking. I got the bream down cold.
