Lots of gin clear water around here...Watermelon with heavy black glitter (watermelon-seed?) is as close to a lock as your going to get.

Both work well,often at the same time.
I do have a personal preference for red flake when using melon,but all mfg color isnt the same with some making melon opaque rather than see thru,thus a more colored water bait like green pumpkin. Smoke works in ultra clear and cloudy somewhat depending upon how its constructed some one sees light well thru some you cant. |

If it had to be one, it would be Green Pumpkin, but I usually start with watermelon red, just because it seems like in my waters, when WR is on IT IS ON!!!! GP is always either on a second pole or close at hand to switch, if WR isn't producing.
