I tried the candle wax thing and it almost set off the fire alarms (ours are very sensitive). I am removing the impurities from the top though. I though about the cold hook thing, seeing as they are in my basement which is fairly cold. I'll try warming them up as well seeing as I'm still getting some that don't fully pour.
Zook, what brand hooks you use? BB

And about twice as much, or more. I tried some Owners at first but we ended up going with the Mustads. They are plenty sharp too.

Clean soft lead, wax, smoking molds with candle, preheating hooks, preheating molds - all are necessary to completely fill the barb.
Good tip there on pouring with the barb facing down. I'll try that too. |

Ok, I've completely got my problem fixed now, so thanks guys.
I've HEAVILY smoked the mold with a candle, and it seemed to work most of the time, so I started tilting the mold towards the barb, and about of the 70 or so jigs I poured last night, I had 2 not fully fill the barb, and another 4 or 5 thank had big wrinkles. I Kind of got into a rythm and before I new it, I was out of hooks Guess I'll have ot get more, which means another trip to Net Craft. BB
