UPDATE: I just got home and to a computer. Janece had her procedure this morning and it went well. Now we have to wait for results. They aspirated 8-10 ml from the cyst. That is about 1.5 teaspoons of fluid. There was a positive side. There was no solid parts to it. That does not ruleout cancer, but it makes me feel better. Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers. I will let you know when we get the test results back.

I am sitting here at work wondering how long I will wait until I call Vandy and use the Dr. infront of my name to try and hurry along getting lab results from yesterday. I am thinking....not too much longer.

UPDATE: Here is what we know so far. The test for tumor marker has increased a lot. This means that it has a greater chance to turn into cancer. There is no sign of cancer in the biopsy. That is great. They are going to send her to a surgeon to have that portion of the pancreas removed. That is all I know at this point. A surgery for a distal pancreatectomy is a big deal surgery but it is a lot better than cancer. Please continue the prayers for my wife and please include my seven year old so that he will not be scared by his mommy having surgery. Thanks guys! I really do appreciate it.

Prayers for her healing as well from me. Prayers can be a very powerful aid in tough and uncertain times.

Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers. We go to Vandy on Friday to talk to the surgeon about removing the tail of the pancreas. I will let you know what I find out.

By the way, my son's baseball team won their tournament. They ended the year a perfect 17-0.

Default Update:

Hey Gang, here is what we know after meeting with the surgeon today. The prognosis is very good. The surgery will be August 12th at Vandy. It will be done with a lapscope. That means small incisions and quicker recovery. She will have about a 3-4 week recovery. I am very confident and we feel good about this. Thank you so much for all the great thoughts and prayers. You are the BEST!!!!!!!!!!!
