I don't see how I missed this one, but I am glad Gallie is getting better.

well gang......the king is NOT better now. he is not goning to make it. this saddens us more than you could inmagine. he is in so much pain gang........too much pain.he has been on prednazone to ease the pain. it hasn't. he is constantly crying and whinning. the meds have caused him to get hyper which isn't good for his heart. fluid is building up in his lungs and his heart muscle walls are too thin to take it. we will put him to rest most likely this weekend.
bryce, ron, adam.........you know how we feel more than anyone right now man. not saying nothing bad about anyone here ok? just that bryce, ron and adam went through this not too long ago. so maybe they can help me with this in the explaining part. i am too upset to really type my feelings about my buddy.....my 2nd BEST friend in the world.
ALL of you folks know how much we love this collie. he has been our child for 13 and almost a half WONDERFUL years. he always picked us up when we thought the world was crashing down on us. but his work is done here. we can't stand the thought of him going through this kind of pain anymore. it has been mostly me that has kept him here, i have had a hard time letting him go. but after seeing him try to walk, breath and just generally get around.....i am being selffish. so i will let him go home now and hope he is wating for lisa and i when we go.
i will miss him waiting for me when i get home from work. he made the day worthwhile. no matter how bad the day was, gallie would make it seem trifle.
this is hard gang.............very hard. sorry.
i know we all laugh and joke with one another, and i know how much you guys and gals love us. thank you. lisa is just as upset as me. we are trying to stay strong for gallie. but he knows. somehow they just know.
so don't think that i am going to stop joking around. this site is one of the things that have kept me upbeat and makes things ok. nowin that you folks are here for me..............just means the world to me. even when you are making fun of me. i love it gang. makes me feel wanted and loved.
can't thing of anything else right now.
GOD BLESS YA'LL.

p.s. i do have a new type of phone and haven't learned quite how to use it. so bear with me on the texts. when i learn how to use it i will return texts.

Man, that just broke my heart, John. You said earlier that he wasn't going to make it much longer, but I didn't know it was going to be this immediate. I've got no words, John, I really don't. We'll be praying for all three of you.

Man there is nothing more painful than the loss of a loyal animal. What animals want from us in return is affection, that’s it. I will have you in mind and hope the best for you and your family.

This reminds me that I had to stop fishing with a buddy that I would never guess mistreated his dog so badly I could no longer take it. He has cover parking for his truck and boat other than his garage. I did not know it until some time later that he chains his dog to a tree in his back yard. Not acceptable in my terms. (This is in Florida not in Vegas, but still cruel)

I am so so sorry John, I really feel for ya, man. I am a lover of animals myself and I know how difficult it is to say good-bye. Man, it hurts, and it's gonna hurt for awhile emotionally, but in due time that will eventually fade away. Gallie's pain is something that will never go away on its own. You're doing the right thing John, you're doing this for Gallie.

That's terrible news, John. I'm so sorry that you and Lisa are going through this. Especially after he seemed to be doing better.
From everything I've heard, not just in this thread, but ever since I've joined this site, Gallie has been loved as much as any dog could ask for. He's been lucky to have a family that has cared about him as much as you and Lisa have. I'm betting he knows that.

Putting him down is gonna be painful, for sure. Just remember that you're doing the right thing.
We're all here for ya buddy

Guys, John asked me to tell everyone that he'll be absent from the forum for a couple of days while all this is going on. I'm sure he'll put something on here when he comes back.

I talked to John for several minutes on facebook. He wanted me to pass along the message "Thank you and God Bless everyone on the forum." He is having a tough time. Please continue to keep John and Lisa in your prayers.

John and Lisa, so sorry to learn that Gallie is so near the end. I know how painful this is. Know that we are all in this with you and many prayers are coming your way.

I'm too soft hearted to read this and not shed some tears......John, I went thru this not to terribly long ago, when I had to put my little buddy Cole down after he suffered a stroke.....Loosing that 5 pounds of dogflesh broke my heart, and it hurt just like he was my real child....still does in some ways. But life goes on, and we deal with it the best we can and keep moving forward. We buried both our pet children in the backyard near my shop in a little garden area.....On occasion i'll sit out there and visit with them.

Only recently did we break down and take in a new pet child....A little mini rat terrier that captured our hearts the first time we layed eye's on him. He hasn't taken the place of our other pets, but he's sure helped us find a reason to smile everyday. At some point in time when you and Lisa feel ready you'll run into some little guy somewhere that'll grab your heartstrings and you'll have a new best friend and life will feel somewhat back to normal again.....Hang in there guys...Prayin for ya's.
