orange ya glad.. huh?? nice color.. problem with a reconizable boat is if you weigh in a bunch of bass in a tourny. every one knows where you caught them from.. your holes don't stay hiddin..

Nice Mojo. You gonna add to the front deck? A few of my buddies did that,(extend it to the console) It looks sharp.

Picked up my first ever new boat this morning, a Stratos 285 Pro XL with 150 V Max. I'm really excited about getting it on the water! (I did get the extended warranty)

Thanks Ranger. The place I bought it is the #1 Ranger dealer and #1 Stratos dealer in MI, also 5 minutes from my house. I looked at the Rangers and they are definitely a step above, but also a lot more $. I fished out of a guy I know's 285 last year and it was a great boat to fish from and it will open a lot more areas that were just too tough to fish with the old boat since it is always windy on my home lake but it still draws little water so I can't wait til this ice is gone!
I like that orange boat Dan, my first one was orange, a little different, in a General Lee way: |

I am sure you are going to be very happy with your new purchase Bender. I really like the white face on the instruments, really sets them off. One other thing I noticed, you have a step from the bow deck and I wish my boat had one. After about 20 or 30 trips back and forth from a days fishing you will appreciate that.
Most people do not realize the difference in boat control between the aluminums and glass. On a windy day the glass boat is so much easier to manage. Of course the aluminum guys can get better speed and easier to tow so there is a tradeoff. |

No thanks, I haven't even got it wet yet. That step is really nice, it is also the cooler. The gauges have cool red lights too, I rally can't wait for the ice to go away. If I had a better tow vehicle I might even head south.

This is my baby. I just got it a few weeks ago. My dad and I went in together to get her. I'm currently in Iraq so he will be keeping her warmed up this fishing season. It's a 1998 Tr-21 with a 225 Mercury OptiMax

Thanks. Not too much longer now and I'll finally get to get my line wet. Stocking up on lures and Woo Daves videos will have to do for now.

OK, New to the site. My NC connection brought me here.
Here is my New Boat waiting on the ice to go here in Central, PA. Only had it on the water once in NC when I picked it up. I am sure my guide will chime in here in a few posts. 2003 Lowe 180 W 2004 Yammer 115F Last edited by BCJensen; 03-20-07 at 09:55 PM. |
