Unbelievable day!
Started off fishing Wilson Reservoir in Kansas. Got to the ramp at 7:30 am, and went to my favorite point. Caught three smallies on a Splash It by 7:45. I continued to fish for the next hour and just could not get them to bite. I had several followers on cranks and grubs, but they would not eat it. I switched up to a shakey head and bang...nearly non stop for the next 6 hours. I even caught a nice 3.5 lb. Largemouth. I would venture to say that I boated 40 smallies total and the largemouth. Biggest smallie weighed 3.7...not a bad day.
On the way home a buddy of mine called at he was fishing our local lake (Lovewell) and was catching a bunch of Whites and Wipers. I decided that I'd stop by for a bit. We boated 35 Whites and 3 Wipers...the first Wiper he caught weighed in at 8 lbs.! Really big fish for this lake. About an hour later we found a mudline and I switched up to a Chartreuse 1/2 oz. Spinnerbait. I was picking up a couple here and there, but I new they had to be in that water. I casted to a little channel break and before I could even turn the reel handle, bang. I knew I had a big fish and actually thought it was a big channel cat. To my surprise...a 15 lb + Wiper! She bottomed his 15 lb scale. The marina was closed and we couldn't get ahold of anyone to come and officially weigh her. I decided not to wait because I wanted her back in the water ASAP so we took measurements of her. 29.5" Long and she had a 23" girth. I haven't found any calculators to give me the estimated weight for a Wiper, so I'm calling her 15+. She was released and went on her way. Some pics (I apologize...some pics are rough. I was by myself): [IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG] |

If I had that good of a day I'd post the pics twice myself too . Looks like it was a blast. We've got Whites. Wipers, and Stripers on Buggs Island and the Whites can be slabs themselves so I can imagine how much fun the Wiper was.

Yes, my computer locked up twice and thought it didn't go through...so I hit the submit button again. Can't figure out how to delete one so here we are.
Also, found out that my Wiper beat the lake record by 3 lbs. |

Been there. I just edit the second one and delete pics. Then refer everyone to the first post. Eventually Kevin sees the duplicate and dumps it.
