3 part question about rods.
I'm in the market to replace a rod with a higher-end model. The rod I have now is a 6.5 med action rod that can handle lure weight from 1/4 up to 1 oz. Most other med action rods I've looked at can only handle lure weights up to 1/2 or 3/4 oz, so is the rod I have now more like a medium heavy rod, or does every action depend on the company? I want a rod that I can flip finesse jigs, fish top water and fish spinner baits if I need a back up spinner bait rod, so what action would you suggest? The heaviest lure I probably will use with it would be up to 1/2 oz, or 3/4 oz rarely.
What do all of you prefeer for higher-end fishing rods, I've been looking at loomis but I can't decide. I'm looking to spend between 100-150. Good fishin |

St. Croix or Falcon. You could go with a St. Croix Premier or a low-end Avid with that budget. Mainly all Falcons fall into that range.
