Sometimes when it is early morning on slick water or with a little chop like stated above. Rip Rap and Bluff especially this time of the year and stump fields.

The spook is a great early morning, or overcast day bait. I like the surface to be calm, cast the spook out and let it sit until the water ripples have disapeared, and then start walking the bait pausing while working the bait long enough for the ripples to disapear befroe starting the walking action again. If that doesn't work retrieve a steady retrieve or alternate until you get a response. If the fish slaps at it, change color, and cadence or even size of the bait. Chrome belly on sunny days and white belly on overcast days and black for night fishing.I hope this helps. P N J

I find the clear to work well on overcast days. I have had some good luck with them on early morning, overcast, and during the pre-spawn and the spawn. The fall is a great time to throw them to. They pretty much got everything else. Now go and catch a biggen'.......
