Speedometers rarely work for long. The problem is the pickup tube on the lower unit gets clogged - speedo stops. Clearing it can be tough if the sediment or whatever is in there, solidifies and becomes very hard. The other issue is they are not very accurate, I really don't understand why, with GPS so reasonable and available now, boat manufacturer's still put them in their boats. IMO, they are not the most useless thing you'll find on a boat.
Fuel gauge - most common fault would be the sending unit (located in the tank), or possibly the float is stuck. There should be a round hatch for access to the tank, probably under or behind the seats whick will need to be removed to gain access. |
