Camoing braid?
Got some tuff line at tacklewarehouse, and I don't really like how white it is (like a greenish white). I wanna take a couple different sharpie colors (2 dark Greens, and brown), and mark the line all the way through the spool to make it a kind of a camo color like that spiderwire. I think the idea is great!
But has anyone tried doing this, and what's the best method for doing so? And do they make braid markers that don't leach (would a sharpie?)? Thanks!

Dont know much, but I used a sharpie at the get together to alternativly color my 10 pound PP every few inches. It seemed to hold up well. No idea how effective it is, but it cant hurt and if you have white braid, I can see that being a little odd.
I would only bother camoing the first 30 or so feet of line on your reel. The rest only you will see, and the white can be watched perhaps better than some other colors.

It might work if you can determine the two ideal colors to use for your waters. It is not a coincidence that animals like zebras and tigers are striped the way they are. It helps them blend into the background. The former to hide from predators and the latter to ambush prey.
A weird thought popped into my head as I visualized myself striping braided line. It would be a pain in the phanny to color it with a sharpie's rounded tip. However, if I were to make a thin incision at the tip with something like a hobby knife to make a very thin slot, this could probably make coloring the line much easier by sliding it through slot in the sharpie and also color the braid line on all sides at once. Just a thought. Heck, it might not even work but would be worth a try.

I carry several sharpies of different colors in my boat and use them as needed to color the last several yards of my line.... mostly I use the black.... it will fade eventually but it is a simple task to redo it as needed...

The color of my braid usually doesn't bother me. If I'm fishing clear enough water where it may be a problem, I'd probably have a leader on anyways.

Never tried this , my question is the sharpie has a chemical odor, dosen't this leech into the water at least when you first start and wouldn't this foreign odor turn bass off?

Just make some stripes on the line on the spool. It will be a bit more random and only takes a few seconds
