Drop shot use/Colors
Hi, big time novice here.
Just getting back into fishing, haven't done it since I was little with my dad. I like the drop shot on fresh water fishing a lot and was wondering if this is good to use out in the bay or deltas fishing striper or sturgeon. Also while I'm at it what color worm would you recommend for relatively clear summer river fishing. Thanks |

Couldn't give advice on the salt water fishing because I don't do much. But as for colors, if its clear water you wanna keep the colors natural.. greens and browns. I like a color called Aaron's magic by roboworm its mainly green with a little blue and a natural brownish bottom.

I'll second JF on the Aaron's magic color. Welcome to the site. Glad you're back into fishing. Can't help you on the salt water fishing.

Thank you for all the replies you guys!
I picked up some aarons magic along with a brownish blood type color and a purpley/pinky one for when I hit dirtier waters. Heading out to Anderson Lake tomorrow morning(hitting the river portion of it) cant wait While I'm here I might as well ask what are good hours for largemouth bass? |

Sorry for double post there's no edit
Should I bother doing an action/spinner/crank bait for the morning along the shore/shallower water then switch to dropshot with worm later in the morning? I plan on starting out around 5AM |

First thing in the morning is a great time to throw topwaters. Try a buzz bait or popper near the shore line.

Since I've my had my DS rig (not long, but have use it multiple times since having it) I have found it to be my go to rig when the bite is tough and my sure shot bait is a 5" Senko wacky rigged in watermelon w/ black flake. One of the most frustrating places I fished has turned into a good time with this combo as I can catch at least 5 before I call it day.
It doesn't/hasn't produced anything over 3lbs for me...none the less it is putting fish in the boat. Good luck! |
