Lowrance Elite-5, 5m and DSI software updates available
Elite-5 and 5m (2.8)
http://www.lowrance.com/en/Downloads/Product-Software-Updates/Elite-Software-Update/ 1)Updates the Navionics selection to allow for either US coastal or Canadian coastal charts to be loaded. This eliminates any gaps that could have appeared because the US and Canadian chart borders were overlapping. 2)Improved depth color shading when using Navionics charts. 3)Added screenshot capability. a.Press the Power key then the zoom plus key +. b.The user must have a writeable micro SD card inserted into the unit for screenshots to be recorded. Most Navionics cards are write-protected and therefore cannot be used for screenshots. 4)This software update also includes general software and performance improvements. Elite-5 DSI (1.2) http://www.lowrance.com/en/Downloads/Product-Software-Updates/Elite-5-DSI-Software-Update/ 1)Updates the Navionics selection to allow for either US coastal or Canadian coastal charts to be loaded. This eliminates any gaps that could have appeared, because the US and Canadian chart boarders were overlapping. 2)Improved depth color shading when using Navionics charts. 3)This software update also includes general software and performance improvements.

The links above are specific software updates for the Elite series of units. My info doesn't show any Navionics mapping cards compatible with your 240.

HDS 10 Update to version 4.0 problem.. HELP!
Hi this one's for Todd or anyone that can help......
I'm a fishing guide & really need help with this.... I downloaded the latest update, opened the .exe file & all the necessary files went onto the newly formatted sandisk SD card. On Friday I was going fishing for the weekend so I went to my boat & put the card in for the update, all of the normal updating text came on the screen then I got "Update successful, please remove all cards & press power to reboot" I did that, it started to boot then halfway through it stopped & a white screen came up with diagonal black lines, in the top left corner there are 3 lines that say "STING 1..2.. I left it for 20 minutes like that but nothing was happening so I tried to hold in the power button to turn it off but the screen just flashes so I had to turn it off at the electrical panel! If anyone can help with this please point me in the right direction as the salmon trolling season has just started here in Sweden & i rely on this unit for my fishfinding & autopilot (I do fish for our Bass equivolent in the summer!!) :-) Regards, John. |

Will the unit still not boot up? If not, try reinstalling update.

Hi & thanks for the quick reply, I told the shop where I bought the unit about my problem & it is already on its way to be repaired. I called around even to the UK but no-one had heard of my problem. I tried installing it 3 times from 2 different cards (both re-formatted before the files went on them) but no joy

Lowrance 520
Todd, have a question. I have a Lowrance 520. When i first purchased a Navonics card i was getting the lake contour depths etc. on the sceen. Now all i get is a map of the lake i am on. Great for waypoints but not much for knowing the depths underneath my position. Help please. Is this something i just need a reset of some kind on.
thank you |

First, go to Map Data under your chart menu. Here, make sure the Navionics card is selected, including the specific region of the card your current lake is on. If your contours don't reappear, your mapping card could be bad.
