A 4 powered rod is what you'll need for many jig fishing applications. I'd rather be overpowered than underpowered when it comes to contact baits like jigs, t-rigs, etcs.

Like I said in another of your threads, I own both a 703 and 733 Dobyns and don't like fishing more than a 1/4oz + trailer jig on them. They fish very similar to Powell rods (or as far as I could tell as I've only fished a Powell for a very limited amount of time). Bump up to the 704 (or 734 is Powell has one). Even the Endurance 714 would work good (although probably wouldn't look good with the 50E, lol).
