Fishing Line
What is some good 6-10 pound test that is thin and strong (not braided line - mono) If this is too broad of a question, tell me.

Nope-not too broad. There are a bunch of good lines out there. Problem is, ask 10 different fishermen what line to use and you will get 10 different answers . I use green Trilene XL, but if you go with any of the name brand lines like Stren, Ande, Trilene Big Game, or P-line just to name a few you will be fine.

if you are fishing any weeds 10 pound would be to light for bass fishing. start at 12 pound test and go up..the answer would be easier if ya put your location in your profile.. reb i have to say as the kind of line..i have to go with ande zooker

I am in Milwaukee WI . I have a light action shakespeare ugly stik rod and a pflueger president reel.
it said anywhere from 6 - 8 pound test or something because of the small reel. |

For overall fishing I would probably move to a medium action rod.

I use a Browning Midas medium action rod and the Midas spinning reel, and I use it in just about every situation. I'm big on flourocarbon line. The best one I've used is Bass Pro Shops XPS Flourocarbon, normally in 10lb. I've fished through everything including weeds with it and have had no problems. The only problem with the BPS line is you either need to buy it at Bass Pro store or order it on the net and wait around a week for it. The worst is the Vanish (Berkley?) line of flourocarbon, and everyone I've talked to about it agrees. The next is best, in my opinion, is Seaguar flourocarbon. That you should be able to find at whatever you nearest store is.

I'd love to be able to just move to another set of equipment but i'm 11 and don't have enough money. I'll work and save as much as I can though. I'm gonna ask for some of your opinions for a fishing pole.
thanks. |

ya may find something at a flea market that would be in your price range, any 10 lb or 12 pound stren or trilene line would be easy enough to find. If you do by a used rod/reel, put new line on it first thing before ya go out fishing.

I would recomend you get a inexpensive rod. If you find out when your a little older that you really like fishing you can move up to a more expensive rod. Overall I would get a medium to medium hard rod. Make sure it has good tip action and good backbone. If you need any help just ask.

As for line, Big Game, is a very good line, not too much, and sold every where. I would start out with 10lb. If you want the best, Berkeley Fireline, which is not braid mono or flouro, its superline. I use mostly seaguar, or gamma though.
