Advice on Riddles Lake, Northern Indiana
Hey,
I'm hoping this falls on the eyes of my fellow Hoosiers. I'm looking to head home further north in a week and have been itching to get out on the boat and catch some fish. (although shore fishing has been providing great smallmouth and white bass action). I want to target walleye in Riddles Lake, and am looking for advice as far as tactics and patterns go for anyone who has been out recently. Thanks guys! link to the lake map: http://www.in.gov/dnr/fishwild/files..._June_2008.pdf |

I've never fished Riddles lake, but it looks very similar to the lakes I fish over here in Porter County. It's been very slow over here all spring, and I would guess it's been the same at Riddles, but that's hard to say since my area lakes and our weather are so influenced by Lake Michigan. Lately, pitch'in jigs, throwing spinner baits, and lipless cranks have done fairly well. The jerk bait bite seems to be having minimal success. Yesterday, I started taking bass off shore using Berkley Havoc 5 inch Grass Pig soft swim baits. Hope that helps a little.
