Lake Seminole Picture Thread
For my birthday earlier in the month, I took a couple days off to visit lake Seminole and Ochessee pond in North Florida. Fishing was well worth the drive, nothing spectacular but several nice bass and all around a good experience. Here are a few pictures and videos.
Attachment 3501 On first arriving at Seminole Big fish of the trip, caught on a spinnerbait. I say 4 pounds with the belly. Caught several fish in this small area, its really nothing more than a cut off pond with a small entrance amongst the reeds. I have video of leaving it below. Another good solid 3 or 3.5 if I used the scale of some people on here hehe... Another pic of that same bass Any idea what this sucker is? Very territorial, there were several out there. My guess is a hawk but I dont know birds. Dark bass caught in clear light brown paper translucent house.... http://entertainment.webshots.com/vi...56901576eBqFuaTraveling through small cut in reeds. http://entertainment.webshots.com/vi...56901576XfOhWbCatch and release of a nice bass http://entertainment.webshots.com/vi...56901576VZIYTABowfin walking around my deck. Is there a way to embed webshots videos?

very good pics and great videos too wtl. the bird you asked about is an OSPREY. they are in the hawk/eagle family. and yes VERY much territorial. i got the bejeezzes scared outta me once down in rabbit creek, hahaha. turned a corner and heard the LOUDEST cry. kept going till i turned another corner and saw it waaaaaay up in a tree. she is gaurding her young this time of the year. awesum to watch em fish. did ya see any gators? should have been a couple along the shoreline there.

Nice pics and videos. Osprey will also take fish from your line. The good news is that they grab the fish by the belly, so you have no real concerns of having to deal with one on your line. Every year we have reports of a float tuber getting his stringer of trout ambushed.
Glad you had fun.

Nice bass wtl!!
Looks like a killer lake! This week after my dad got off of work, he went fishing for a little bit at the local pond, on Friday he caught a nice 4lber, and hooked, but the line snapped on a 10lber! Jumped a few times he said! All where on a rage tail anna! we all went for a little while at dusk, went till night, I caught one little dink on my first cast, my dad caught 2 dinks. After that we went to gander for a little while! Dern! My dads fire wall blocks the server!

Ospreys are great fisherbirds...haha...The worst thing they will do to you is scare the crap out of you when they do a 90 mph nose dive right next to the boat .....Ofcourse its dead quiet and not a sound to be heard . Then they will come up with a nice bass that I have been fishing for all morning ....I fish Lake Tarpon and several more lakes in Central FL , I see them just about every time I go . Got to admit they are beautiful to watch.....keep on crankin- Randy
