Braid tips
Anyone have any tips for using braid? Spooling, wt for fishing jigs etc... I normally use fluro, but want to try braid with my jig rods for cover.

There's whole books that could be written about this, but I'd start here:

Ok for flipping/pitching jigs you normally don't let out more than 20 yards. And when you're fishing jigs you wanna have a lot of strength. so here's what I would do if I had the convince of having more than one rod.
I would put 40-60lb braid on there. Second of all, I would take some mono and use it for a backing. For example, if your reel could have could have 100 yards of 12lb test line capacity, I would fill the spool with with 50 yards of spool with mono, and than take 50lb braid (equivalent of diameter of 12lb test mono) and but fill the rest of the 50 yards on the spool with the braid. You can make a 150 yard spool of braid goon two reels rather than one reel if you didn't use a mono backing. Save money real good!

i use 50 lb power pro for my smaller jigs and 65 lb sufix for my heavier cover jigs.
in your case, id go with the sufix, i liked it so much better. just like bassboss said back it with mono, but not to save money, if you dont then your line will eventually start slipping on the hookset because of the slickness of braid. on a 100yd spool that you wont be casting at all id almost fill it up with mono, maybe 70 yds. if you will be casting some go half n half. the good thing about that is you can use any old mono you want as cheap as you can get it, and if your lining multiple rods get a 20lb+ mono so it wont use as much. ive not tried fluoro with jigs but i feel very comfortable using braid, i dont feel like its gonna break on the hooksets and if you get a lunker in tight cover you can feel free to horse him out! hope this helps out if ya got anymore questions ask em and ill try to help more

65 lb fireline 8 strand braid.imho it's the best out there.sufix is second.powerpro is an outdated 4 strand braid.the 8 strand is smoothest and acts the most user friendly as far as lack of digging in the spool and wind knots.use a palomar knot and crazy glue the tag so it doesn't fray.some guys melt the tag.
