Woodward Dream Cruise
So the 17th annual Dream Cruise was this past Saturday and my dad and I drove the Camaro up there. I gotta thank the great guys of the Motown Muscle car club for getting us a spot to park the VERY last minute.
So while up there, I took just short of 2000 pictures. Most were shot with a photography technique called panning. Essentially, you move the camera with the object your shooting (in this case, the cars driving by) to in theory have an image of a sharp car with a blurred background to give the effect of going fast. Now this is MUCH easier said than done. Of my 2000 shots, I've picked about 40 that are decent and 5-6 that I really like. They're not quite done but here's sample. BB

Nice looking pic! I've seen some panning photos done with little rivers and streams and they look real nice.

I've taken panning photos near the end of a 1/4 mile dragstrip as the racecars blew by, so yeah....I know what you mean about it being easier said then done....lol. Nice photo by the way....I like the ground effects on that Camaro....Be sure to share some of the other photos with us.

We haven't had internet at home since last Wednesday (something happened during a storm on Tue night). So I edited all the pictures, but haven't had a chance to upload them until now since I'm at school.
So here's some of my favorites based on how the panning technique turned out (not favorites by car! ) Also a few others. Here's some others: Thanks for looking. I'll post a link to the whole set once I get it set up on Flickr. BB

Thanks John. One thing I was actually disappointed about this year was the large number of new cars: Camaros, Challengers, Mustangs, etc. There were some very classic muscle cars though. However, because of the panning technique I was using, I had to select the good pictures, not the good cars.
