I was a part of a contest like this on another forum and it was pretty fun. It was just for bragging rights so there wasn't really any concern about anyone being less than honest. It was whoever had a fish that was closest to their state record, any species of bass. It is a little tougher for guys from some regions than it is others. Guys from Florida have the 22lb 4oz fish to try for while guys by the pig smallie factory that is Lake Erie were entering 6 and 7 pound fish that were way closer to a state record sized fish than the couple of 10lb largemouth that were entered from the southern states. It's still a good time though and opens the door for a lot of good natured ribbing.
