Just a reminder
Just a little reminder for you folks that have boats. Its that time of year when alot of folks aint using there rigs as much so now is the time to do all that "I'll put it off till tommorrow maintenance" Grease up everything, plug changes, good dose of Seafoam....is it time to replace that water pump impellar, check all electrical components and connections on the boat and The trailer, check wheel bearings, tire pressure's,hitch connection's. Ya'll know what I am talking bout. GET OUT THERE AND DO IT. I promise you it will save money, headaches and the UNEXPECTED.
By the way dont be afraid to ask questions....there FREE and so are the answers.

Hey Laser-do you change the impeller yourself? Near as I can figure I'd have to drop the lower unit to change it and I don't think I want to tackle that.

I may do that-the idea of dropping the lower unit is a little intimidating even with the shop manual.

REB,
Not a problem. I change my impeller out every other year whether it needs it or not. Just make sure you have a friend there to help you, it is quite a task to lift, stab and start the bolts by yourself. JackL

Bama your looking at 35 for the impellar and about another 20 for the impellar cup. On a 200 dont take no chances. replace BOTH. Go to local dealer and get the water pump kit. Will have everything in it. The only other thing you need from that point is some dish soap to lube up the impellar while putting it in. Ifn ya have any other questions you can holler at me here or at wareagle50@hotmail.com.

Water pump!
Like he sayin' get tha "kit". Change tha housin' and ride plate along with tha impeller. Tha stainless parts may look good but that don't make it so! A remote starter button is tha best investment ya can make for doin' this and other stuff when ya doin' it by yourself.......................T
BTW Laser, I still drive all my boats with both feet on tha floor |
