Election thread
*this thread is not political in the sense that nobody should use it to talk about what should be government policy or who should win*
But I thought, since I will be online and surfing like a madman for the next 12 hours, if people want to talk as all the exit polls come out, and the states fall, we could have a place to talk., Right now it looks like the race is real close.

It's no suprise that the 11 electoral votes from the state of Indiana have been given to candidate, Mitt Romney.

Right, so far Romney had Indiana and Kentucky, Obama has Vermont. West Virginia is also going for Romney. That is 24-3.
I think with Virginia reputedly being so close, thats pretty scary for those wanting to get a quick resolution.,

what i am concerned aobut is the jersery and new york areas. areas hit by hurricane sandy. there is already talk ov "rigged" machines and so forth. these areas could hold up the election process i think.
i don't care whom oyu voted for. ...jsut PELASE, VOTE! this is the ONLY way we as AMERICANS can voice our thoughts and concerns to the people in D.C.

John, I think it wont matter. NJ and NY are almost conceded to Obama, so both candidates will assume they go blue. Like California 4 years ago, where the votes werent actually counted to weeks after.
We are looking for FLorida, Ohio, Virginia, New Hampshire, Pennslyvania, Wisconscin, Colorado and maybe a couple other states. Those are the ones that are really gonna tilt this thing.

By the way, just for you, WTL is calling the state of Alabama for Mitt Romney. First.

I think it's gonna stay close here in NC, but will eventually go to Romney by a hair.

I knew Indiana was a done deal this morning, when I went to vote at 6AM. The place was PACKED. People who don't work just don't get up that early.

Tennessee went Republican... Who would have thought? Heck even Gore couldn't get his home state to vote democrat.

Yeah, it sure looks like Obama has the upper hand at this point. Too many "swing states" starting to lean to Obama.

It's crazy how so much seemingly hinges on a single state.

I was pretty confident it was going to go right. As I watch the electoral map by county on the net it's tighter than a gnats @$$. Ohio is scaring the crap out of me right now and Florida is way, way to close...Their still missing one county in the panhandle which is said be a red county. Only time will tell...If Obama wins then I have to do another 4 years of service after my 20 is up :-(

Even if Romney pulls it out, Florida will certainly be won by less than 1%, which will trigger an automatic recount.
Anyone remember how fun the last one was? Anyone wanna bet how fun it will be with an Eric Holder Justice Department involved?

Most recounts end up reaffirming the original vote. If someone wins florida by more than 3,000 votes, dont worry about it, it will probably be reaffirmed.

Rove is either pumping smoke out his ***, or saying that Ohio might be closer than it looks now cause it is starting to shift romney
Knowing rove, dont discount that it might be the smoke

Yes, but Ohio is only reporting at 59% and Romney is only down by about 74K. A large majority of the state is red and those 41% that haven't been turned in might be the key. I'm not a huge proponent of Rove, what he was saying is making sense though.
I wouldn't count Romney out just yet...I think he still has a shot. CA is going to kill him though in the electoral votes. Thank God for absentee ballots! |
