I would say 20 pound power pro will work fine if the water is real clear the use berkly 100% floro in 12 pound

Power Pro for braid hands down for me. I've used 20 pound poweer pro on my spinning reel and liked it. Also I use Bagley SilverThread copolymer on spinning reels with no problem.

Power pro, it's the best out their with out loosing an arm, leg, and a few twos. Other wise if you will to loose a few body parts, go with Daiwa samurai braid.
30lb for Ppro 50lb for samurai 40lb = 8lb mono.

i have never tried the power pro, so i cant say one way or the other about the stuff, butt i like spider wire pretty good.
i will tell u from experience, do NOT go the "cheap" route and use shakespeare ugly braid....i have lost many a lures being over confident in that stuff by thinkin "well its braid, i ought to be able to bring the stump to me" and pop it just as easy as u would 14 lb mono |

I have been a long-time fan of PowerPro, but I am giving Sufix a try this season because I have heard good things about it. The Sufix replaced the four-year-old PP on one of my reels. I know, you should change braid every year, too, but it was an endurance test. I have no complaints about PP, and it is too early in the Sufix test to give anything but the preliminary "I like it so far".

Either Sufix or Power Pro, you will be pleased with either one.

Sufix Performance Braid is my first choice. I may acutally be picking up some 10lb for my dropshot rod. And it's a win/win with Sufix. Either you love it (which you will!) or they send you your money back.
After that, Power Pro. BB

take spider wire and tie a half hitch (like when you do the first knot tieing shoes) and pull on it 9 times out of 10 it will break try that with power pro and it wont |

I've been all Power Pro on both spinning and baitcasters for years. Last year I started to slowly convert over to Sufix Preformence Braid and really like it a whole lot better then Power Pro for a few reasons.
Sufix is a 6 strand line vs Power Pro which is a 4 strand line. That makes Sufix rounder. It's quieter going through the guides. And the big one is that the dreaded tip wrap is just about a thing of the past. I only use 3 sizes of braid. 10 lb for all spinning reels, 30 lb for all baitcasters except my jigging setup which is 50 lb test. Braid gets softer and softer with age. After about 2 years of use, I reverse the line if I still have enough left on the spool to do so. So I could technically get 4 years out of a spool, but I've never made it past 3 years yet. Also, all braid is dyed. The color fades very quickly. It's just the nature of the beast.

With braid in clear water, do you use a mono or flouro leader? Or just tie directly to the lure with the braid because it is thinner diameter?

i have only tried power pro and i love it. i use it on both my spinning reels and baitcasters. but if you dont want braid on your spinning reel i would suggest 10 pound suffix. i havent used any other braid but if i do change, itll be suffix because thats all i use with mono.
