Bug Repellant Recommendations ????
Hey Guys,.... anyone have a recommendation on a great bug repellant? Especially effective for biting flies..... went on a fishing trip this past weekend with a buddy and had a great time. Just at times the biting flies about ate me alive. Very frustrating at times.... only way I was able to keep them at bay was to wear my rain gear pants. But that got to be mighty hot at times.

If you know anyone who sells AmWay products, they make a bug spray that is outstanding. Used to be called D-15, then they changed the name...can't remember what it's called now. All I know is that it is super good stuff. It's not the cheapest, but it works.

Repel makes a product called Repel 100. It's like... 98% DEET, or more.
Comes in a little pump spray bottle. You can find it at Walmart or any other department store that has an outdoor/camping section. The liquid itself dries quickly and is virtually scentless. It's such a 'light' fluid, that when I was spraying it on, I had to double-check that I was spraying myself, as I couldn't feel anything hitting my skin. It's awesome. |

Hoosier... I've not heard of your vanilla concoction before now. What is the recipe... water/vanilla?

Light sun block pants and a long sleeve shirt with sun buff. Keeps me from cooking in the sun and also keeps the bugs off of me. My fears may be unfounded, but I prefer not to be around sunscreen or bug spray when handling baits or fish.

IAFrogger, go find your nearest Avon lady and get some Skin so Soft. Works like a champ.
