I don't think they are going to be heading back to deeper water at this point. I'm convinced after all these years that northern largemouths are less effected by cold water than southern species. However, I think you'll find they will be holding close to cover and less willing to strike unless you put that lure right on their nose. I've had bass this year really wack my baits hard just days after ice out when water temps were still in the upper 30's to low 40's.
