Punching Mats
Saw a "how to" this weekend on TV. The weight stop makes good sense. The heavy tungstun weight makes good sense. 50 lb braid makes good sense. 65lb braid even better. The straight shank hook with keeper built in makes good sense too.
The "how to" guy lost me when he said you need to snell the hook on so it will angle up like a trigger with the hook set. That makes sense but have you ever tried to snell a hook with braid.. It just aint happening since it has zero stretch.. you all follow me here? Capt Mike

I think the BMF hooks have a different owner now but, they have welded eyes. Line (braid or whatever) can't slip into the space.

I believe the proper term for a mat punching rod is a "meat stick" and don't be pulling yours out in front of paying customers !!!!!
