Shad run on the Rapp.
Walked along the Rappahannock river this weekend and did a little shad fishing. Didn't catch any but saw plenty. Most were in the 7-10" range which means there was a great spawn last year or the previous year. Typically the Hickory and American shad reach 18-24" range and are a lot of fun to catch. Plenty of birds of prey were in the area as well. Cormorants, herons, osprey and bald eagles were seen lurking about.

I wonder if you could A-rig a bunch of shad darts???? I really needed a Sabiki rig. Probably would have caught them.
