Candle wax on cork rod grips.
A method Ive never tried but would like to hear some feed back if you have.
Even though the music is terrible in the video (similar to 2 girls/one cup....Though Ive never seen it) ...It looks kind of interesting. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CHI5AcJN4sg Thoughts?

I'm not against waxing your rod, unless you can find a friendly female type person to wax it for you. But, would not putting wax on the cork make it slippery when wet? It would seal it, obviously, but I'm concerned with what it would feel like, especially if it was wet. And would not using regular old parafin do the same thing? I really thought this was going to be a gag video with the guy setting the cork on fire...........

Well let us know how a waxed cork feels. I'd not want to try it on a rod that is in service for fear of it being slick and once it's waxed, it would probably be difficult to get the wax out of the cork.

Some people complain abaout the feel of U40 which I find personally to be hardly perceptible. This might be a hard sell even if it works.

Thats very interresting. I love the music, lol. I wonder though if a heat gun wouldn't be a better way to melt the wax into the cork? Less risk of burning the cork.

That's what I was thinking too. I don't doubt that this works but I could see me screwing up my rods if I tried it lol.
