Ya, if you got the money, than get a mattlures blue gill! But other wise try both!

Either type could work. The best thing is to try both kinds and see what the fish want. Its generally easier to hook up with a soft bait then a hard one. If they're eating blue gills you have a chance at a nice fish. Good luck

As the proud owner of several of the mattslure blue gills I will say that they are killer. I But as bonsai stated, the hook up is not as good as a soft bodied. I think this is mostly due to the size of the bait.
Robo makes a baby blue gill shad that has been pretty darn good to me lately. I have also had several fish on a booyah blue gill colored spinner bait. There is very rarely a trip to the water where I don't toss the swimbaits, but some of the alternatives will generate more fish.

The Matt Gill is an awesome bait for pissing fish off then they eat a smaller or different bait but got with the berkley Hollow Belly thats the only hollow belly I use,if you want to spend the money buy a 4in tru-tungsten bluegill its a sick bait I have 6 of them
