Fun with dry ice

Bottle rockets, you can buy them anywhere at your local firework dealer assuming they're legal in you state. simple and cheap solution: dry ice!

Hand grenades, pretty much illegal for public use in every state. simple solution: dry ice! (albeit non-lethal)

You pretty much get the idea, you ever play withe dry ice?

never messed with dry ice,but
years ago...when i was about 14 or so,we use to live next to this huge dried up ditch that was about 20 to 30' deep.....what we would do is take big chunks of chlorine and let it sit in a bowl motor oil.......the chemical reaction would take a long time,but the result is smoke would just start pouring out of the bowl faster than we could run....way more smoke than we could hide...it completely filled up the creek that was about 1/2 a mile long ......needless to say,police,firedepartment,and angry neighbors were everywhere.....
we were smart enough not to stick around...and when my mom ask what was going on,i would just shrug my shoulders...........................and smile!
then i read that stuff can combust and i stopped messing with home-made explosives...
it was an adolescent thing i guess.....now i yell at kids doing that stuff (shaking fist)..hahaha

Dry ice was fun to play with. I used it on science projects a lot, made a tornado machine for science class and it was pretty decent.

I always like throwing cutlery on dry ice and hearing the weird metallic shreaking sounds it made. Also throwing bugs on the ice...instant frozen death...haha

Ya, that was pretty freaking fun!

I tossed that bottle up in the air and when it landed it when 50 feet to the side, pretty awesome!

haha, I did that once, I took some dental floss and put a whole through a mento and closed the cap on floss, so when you open it, the floss falls into the drink and spews all over ya!

day 2 anything taste like metal.i about barf at every meal...this chemo affects some brain funtions.-ie seasours- they are watching me closely...

Same here, but we did it in town on a busy street a long time ago. I would tell a story but I don't want the ATF at my house, hahahaha.

A friend of mine used to have a job at the YMCA, and one of her duties was getting the pool to the right pH level by adding chlorine and various other chemicals. We used to take the chlorine pellets and add them to a half-empty 20-oz plastic bottle of Coke. Add it quick, screw the top on TIGHT, and throw. After 10-15 seconds, the pressure from whatever kind of gas that made would rupture the bottle fairly spectacularly.

It could take a lot of self restraint to not do this.

I never got around to dry ice. I wasn't allowed around chemicals after the insident with my brothers chemistry set. Who would have known that bleach , sodium whachacallit, and some other powder would do all that?
