Default The New Job

Well, I am back in the Gulf of Mexico. I quit my job overseas Sunday, and reported to the GoM Monday. I hated to hang it off in my old company like that, but you gotta do what you gotta do. I was supposed to fly out Tuesday and I wouldn't be surprised if they don't dock me the cost of the plane ticket from my last check. But oh well, I am happy for a change at work. I took a job through a staffer with an oil company and I am working as an HSE Consultant for myself. I tell you what fellas, I haven't been this happy in a while at work. I go outside, do my audits, type up my reports, and wha-lah, make everyone else life miserable. Its nice to be on the other side of the fence for a change.

Congrats Gump. I know it was a lot of thought and prayer that went into the choice.

I did Cass, and I still pray I made the right decision. It wasn't anything I had to hunt down or make work, it just sort of came to me.

While I am not much in the way of a praying man, I do believe in things falling into place. I also think that once an informed choice is made, that it is usually the right one.

I know it was a big decision for you and your family. I'm glad it's working out and you aren't halfway around the world.

Don't worry about hanging one off in your old company, they would do to you in a heartbeat. CONGRATS on your new job.
