How to change metal into wood....
Well sort of..... I have been working alot lately, and hadn't been here much, so I thought I'd stop in and share a current project with you guys. This week, I'm doing some airbrush artwork in a new restaurant thats fixin to open, and my first task was to "Do something with that ugly metal pole"!!! Or so said the lady that owns the place....lol.
So.....I took her ugly metal pole and tried to convert it into a wooden support beam.....Concidering that we are located in a National forest, I'm anxious to find out if it'll pass the inspection of the locals....especially the ones that work in the timber industry....lol....I hope they like it. I'd also like to hear what you guys think about it.....I'm always my worst critic, but I'm actually happy with the way its turning out....Yeah, I'm not quite done with it yet....I've got a second pole and a couple of murals to do before its over, although some of it might not get done before their scheduled grand opening on the 5th...Yikes....Like I said, I've been busy lately and theres no end in sight yet. Ands its either been too hot or too windy or too busy to wet a hook lately, but I'm bout ready for some on the water theropy.

Very well done bud! If you didn't tell me that it was actually a metal pole, I would have never known without touching it! Awesome Job!

That's not wood? lol looks awesome.. sure fooled me! I doubt it'll fool any loggers though! My uncle's one and went around my grandma's house looking at everything wooden.. and telling us what kinda wood it was and why! haha, it's pretty cool really!

I had a guy walk thru today, that said he'd been working with timber all his life, and unless he was told, he would not know that was a metal pole.....He claimed the colors were true to a red cedar log, and everything from the grain to the worm holes looked real enough to fool him......I took that as a compliment of the highest regard.
Thanks for all the compliments guys.....I don't often do artwork that pleases myself, but I was happy with this project.....Especially, concidering I'd never done anything like it before...lol
